The Social Development Program at Swan River First Nation supports on-reserve members in maintaining a basic standard of living and accessing services that promote well-being, family stability, and personal growth.
Our primary focus is to preserve and strengthen family unity and responsibility. We believe in empowering individuals and families by offering assistance that respects their dignity and cultural values.
Program Overview
- Income Support: Assisting eligible individuals and families with basic needs such as food, shelter, and utilities.
- Family Support Services: Providing support for families in crisis and working to maintain family unity.
- Referrals & Advocacy: Connecting clients with appropriate rehabilitation programs, educational services, and life skills resources.
- Life Skills & Capacity Building: Encouraging independence through personal development, budgeting, and goal-setting support.
