Overview

The Swan River First Nation Recreation Department supports the physical, mental, and social well-being of our members through inclusive programming, youth development, and community events that bring people together. We believe recreation is a vital part of building strong, healthy families and a united community.

Programs & Activities

Stay active and engaged with programs offered throughout the year:

  • Youth Sports:
    Baseball, hockey, soccer, and basketball for all skill levels.
  • Traditional Games & Land-Based Activities:
    Archery, snowshoeing, canoeing, and teachings rooted in our cultural traditions.
  • Fitness Programs:
    Group fitness classes, yoga sessions, and walking clubs for all ages.
  • Arts & Crafts Workshops:
    Beading, painting, and seasonal DIY projects.
  • After-School & Summer Camps:
    Supervised and enriching experiences for youth development and fun.
  • Adult & Elder Wellness:
    Cultural walking groups, beading nights, and gatherings to support wellness and connection.

Facilities

Recreation spaces for community use:

  • Gymnasium & Fields:
    Open for sports practices, games, and community use.
  • Community Hall & Outdoor Recreation Areas:
    Hosts events, seasonal challenges, and cultural games.
  • Booking Information:
    For rentals or field reservations, contact the Recreation Department.
  • Equipment Availability:
    Limited use of canoes, snowshoes, sports gear, and more—book in advance.
  • Hours of Operation:
    Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM
